When will England get the hang of this?

From Cricinfo after the Sri Lanka game.

"Insisting that England had, despite a mid-inning lull that brought 28 runs in 10 overs, scored about "25 above par" on this surface, [Eoin Morgan] laid the blame for this defeat squarely at the feet of his side's performance in the field. "

Yes we bowled badly, but 300 is no longer an 'above par' score you f**king imbecile.

***disclaimer - yes I know it's one day tip and run, but this level of cluelessness from the England set up is really yanking my chain.

imo Bell, Ballance and possibly one out of Taylor or Root are not ideal 1 day cricketers, you can have 1 or possibly 2 of them, but not all 4.

Hales needs to play and Buttler should be higher in the order

Indeed, the worse England are, the better, since it means we still aren't really taking one-day cricket seriously.

which he had actually batted on. You can't say 400 is a par score based on games involving the top teams and Afghanistan/Ireland/Zimbabwe. No team had ever chased 300 in Wellington before and its not like it isn't often in use

and you would only pick one of them?

were as a result of a good start and our thinking that "x" score is good enough, so let's work towards that.

Only one side batting first has won scoring less than 300 so far (Pakistan beating Bangladesh), so the idea that a score under 300 is par for any match in this tournament is absurd.

You should be aiming for 330+ every time.

200 in around 30 overs..wickets in hand.....500 was doable if they wanted to after it.
