I fear it crying when they're hunting for jews and then I'll be killed as well for aiding and abetting you.

I will allow you down to watch Arsenal games.

He's still your man for the next few seasons then ?
Let's leave the Giroud bit to lie..

You're welcome to the next return serve when we trounce chelsea in the next few weeks, or say, beat United away..

All a bit pointless matey :-)

on the off chance they could raise it

This is the only logical viewpoint, but then you have admitted you aren't motivated by logic.

If we'd spent half a season in the relegation places there'd be civil war in the stands.

I think he believes the team has the potential to do great things, if only it would stop blowing its own legs off

The logical route would have been to address the repetitious cycle of vulnerability years back.
You're too sentimental.. He really needs to go at the end of this season..

Have you not noticed our fans have the attention span of a fish, and are distracted into delirium by a regulation Giroud near post finish?

The year after we "weathered the stormy years" and started to sign players instead of sell them, we won a trophy and are now just 7 points away from 2nd spot

We are somewhere between Spurs, Liverpool and Chelsea, which isn't exactly failure

Monty91

We must be doing *something* right, surely?

Arsene who, when he first arrived, wasn't it ?
The point being, it's an unknown element but at least it won't be him and more of the same for the 19th season..
Change is OK , you know.. I can't see what we're all meant to be afraid of..

He keeps having these occasions which should be parties but invariably end with someone pissing all over the metaphorical cake.

I was reminded of his 1000th game debacle at chelsea last night.

His methods are now being seen as outdated by many quarters within the game, injuries, a defensive frailty that always finds us out. He doesn't appear to want to change or delegate..
Just witness the apathy and lack of motivation last night..
It isn't a healthy situation.

Monty91
02-26-2015, 12:16 PM
worse.

He'll likely be gone in a few seasons anyway, so given that he's not exactly dragging us down into mid-table and won a trophy in his first season after we stopped being broke, I see absolutely no imperative to get rid of him now.

Is there not some logic to this? I refuse to believe you cannot see it.

But I see absolutely no reason why a different manager would improve our chances of getting there. And as you acknowledge above, neither do you

in the UEFA cup

After all, some teams who replace their manager often (appointing the flavour of the month from top European leagues) and also throw 100m+ cash on new players have struggled to get into the CL (Spurs, Liverpool)

Not saying that Wenger is faultless, but he is still the best man for the job imo

We're one of the richest clubs in the world. This isn't 1982 when GG was scraping together a few quid to buy Perry Groves from Colchester..

I don't think after 18 years anyone can be accused of knee jerk extremisim either.

There's only one way for him and any other manager to keep their positions in a sporting arena and thats to show progress.
If he does that, then he'll get another contract.

He's lost it.. Just accept there are younger and more progressive managers out there who deserve to be given a chance..

it would be the correct decision to remove him as manager, and yet also believe that you have no idea if his successor will improve us. You aren't even confident enough to say the chances of us improving under a new man are above 50%.

Well that's certainly a credible position

Whereas, you're content to let the grass grow under your feet.
If you wanted proof of how misplaced your belief is in him, you had it delivered last night.
How many more chances to you want to give him, before you consider a new approach.?

Classic Jorge

Worth mentioning that GG was at Millwall in 1982 and Groves didn't join us until 1986 and we finished 10th in 1982.

PS You could say Simeone, who I genuinely think has the potential to be a great manager. Though I think he'd probably need to ditch four or five players to instil his philosophy properly and 18 months to get over the language issues.

Here's mine...

Inherit a declining team in an old 38000 stadium
:
Win the double in your first year
:
:
Build a 100m training facility with the profit from selling your team's best players
:
:
Go a whole season unbeaten and win a gold trophy
:
:
Give the fans CL football every single year for 18 years (something no other club has managed in teh same period)
:
Get to a CL final and be 20 minutes away from winning it
:
:
Build a brand new 60000 stadium
:
:
Pay off most of the mortgage by finding relatively unknown players and selling them to the world's top teams
:
:
When the revenue from the new stadium starts to come in, attract players from Barcelona, Real Madrid, Man Utd
:
:
Win an FA Cup
:
:
Maybe finish 2nd or 3rd

so given his credentials and the fact he's not taking us backwards. I'm certainly happy to see what he can do with those renewed resources over the coming years.

And then he'll probably be leaving anyway, so why the rush?
