i've read that Cameron has said the airlines need to do more to stop them (young radicalised individuals) going to the middle east. Surely we want all these radicalised imbeciles to go there and hopefully die in battle?

care to protect them from such silly decisions.

It's a tricky one, though. Outbound border controls are amongst the most illiberal measures a state can impose, in effect turning your country into a prison from which you must receive permission to depart. Don't like that at all.

Rendering a person stateless isn't going to help matters.

Also, "subject"?

before hand he'd say I am going for a piss and I'll meet you outside.

He used to take ages. got fed up waiting for him.
I asked him what took so long.

He said he has a whole ceremony of cleaning his ***** after using the toilet.

 I didn't ask anymore.

fighting for an enemy power; I see some difficulties with defining IS or Al-Qaeda in such a way, but I would rather that the big-brains in the justice department sort this stuff out so that returning 'fighters' might be arrested on arrival and prosecuted. Their behaviour is, to the layman, treason.

We're all subjects of Her Majesty, I believe. That is the law. You might not like it, but there it is. You have the option of trying to change the law, or you could move, obtain citizenship somewhere that suits you better, and revoke your UK nationality.

Nonsense on a mass scale imo, allowing people to go abroad and kill for one army and not the other is duplicitous hypocritical rubbish.

On the "subject" thing. Tell me about it. The funny thing is that they are insisting on calling us citizens for the most part now.

enemies of this country and thus criminalise anyone who has been involved with them. You don't have to be too picky about it imo. Just check out the outfit, beard length and tendency to say things like 'Allah hu Akhbar' and lock 'em up.

Old Wotsertits Chakrabarti will have a **** fit, but lock her up too, I say.

Sir Charlie of Nicholas
02-24-2015, 11:17 AM
On the other hand, if it is indeed the case that one may fight for an ally but not an enemy, why would you think this odd?

One's allies are on one's side. One's enemies are, well, one's enemies.

Sir Charlie of Nicholas
02-24-2015, 11:27 AM
How would your Jag get on without petrol? Hmm?

As far as I'm concerned we should have used the first Gulf war as an opportunity to push on through the middle east, taking Saudi Arabia and actually stealing their oil (that thing we're always accused of but never do.) I suspect you might have found yourself on the side of the Saudis in thei situation, though.

Classic Jorge
02-24-2015, 11:27 AM
Basically lets stop everyone fighting for foreign armies, there's enough violence in the world already.

If you want to allow it, allow it across the board. You can't pick and chose the barbarisms you're OK with.

would have been absolute nonsense.

Freeing 50 per cent of the population from oppression, toppling a horrible, murderous regime, stopping the spread of Wahhabbism and the funding of terrorism and securing the West's energy resources for a generation is, even for a man of peace, a somewhat compelling argument.

Who knows how many lives we might have saved in the long term?

I'm not sure they would take kindly to both Mecca and Medina being in the hands of non muslims, OBL started most of his crusade on the basis there was one air base on the peninsular
