I think I probably smell grass being smoked when out and about almost as often as I do fags these days.

I mean, when there are too many hipsters somewhere for *me* you know you have a problem.

Criminalising people for buying it - the only way it's ever going to get close to being a gateway - is the real problem.

Meanwhile the exchequer makes fat stacks of cash from more harmful stuff, solely for the reason it's profitable. I'm not just talking about Fags and Booze, it's all the ridiculous proscription stuff too.

a bit of an issue, though, isn't it? When it comes to the whole 'harmful stuff' issue, I mean.

Not that I disagree with you about legalisation. Just that the whole 'dope is harmless' side of things may have to be quietly shelved.

If anything it reinforces the case for some sort of sane regulations.

Smuggling it in from abroad isn't worth the hassle, far easier to produce it here and sell it. As long as you turn over quickly you won't lose too much crop.

A plant with a high THC, high yield weight and a short flowering cycle - less than six weeks in some cases - is ideal for this.

Sativa strains, your Peter Tosh/Thai Sticks mellow, chilled stuff, takes three to four months and yields less than a third of that. It works out as roughly one sixth as profitable, hence it's not around.

Increasing numbers of people with mental health issues are, or have previously been, cannabis smokers. This is not the same thing at all and certsinly doesnt prove thst cannabis caused it.

Everyone i know with any form of mental health issue has an irresponsible attitude to one drug or another, be it fags, booze, coke or cannabis. Nutters like getting f**ked up :-)

For the recrd, it seriously doesnt agree with me, i hate the stuff. I would legalise it tomorrow though.

That a load that got caught the other week at North Shields in a lorry from Ijmuiden carrying crates of bark, 1.3 tonnes of herbal & resin in total.

When the ban is lifted over here I'll be all over getting a little cafe sorted, somewhere quiet in the dales.

This seems as good a place as any
