that bad is it?

He also proposes sin-bins for unsporting behaviour and a 48 team World Cup :-|

Alex Song’s ‘goal’ against us at Upton Park, disallowed.

Ander Herrera’s equaliser for United on Monday evening, allowed.

In both cases other players stood in offside positions and very close proximity to the keeper when the ball want in. In both cases I think the correct call was to allow the goal to stand though of course we did benefit hugely in the former.

I doubt you even have any recollection of either goal.

I just remember how deadly dull we used to be, and how embarrassing it was that such a style of football won us trophies.

Do you remember when we won the Cup Winners Cup by kicking the opposition and playing an offside trap? Like a sort of Stoke, but more boring? :-(

the fight, the passion and the spirit. And at those we were very, very good.

*I wouldn't really.

recklessly breaking legs.

We were boring, I grant you. But we were not violent.

incredibly dirty.

We beat Anderlecht 5-0 at home once and their manager, Arie Haan, said afterwards that some of his players needed therapy because they had never encountered opposition who flew into every single tackle as if it were a matter of life and death, without any regard for the safety of the opponent.

They were only Belgians, of course. But still, the point stands.

3-0 at home and 7-0 away in the CWC of 1993/94. They're all just Belgians for Sir C

A time when I think we were banned from Europe along with all other English clubs.

Also late 90s for a short period.

Still struggling to come to terms with Jenkinson (Jenks) being allowed to leave.

Not sure what he thinks about Jimmy Carter all the same.
