Hang-gliding I can kind of get. It doesn't just seem to be about the look-at-me thrill. I can imagine there is an aesthetic dividend to be drawn from it, for instance.

However, anything that is basically pretending to commit suicide (bungee-jumping, base jumping, etc) just makes you a c**t imo.
