In UK I guess it just depends on whether you can be bothered to get your lardy arse off the sofa long enough to boil some vegetables. So possible, yes, likely, no.

It's hardly as if people can't do the maths and work out that you can perfectly well rustle up a nutritious and filling meal for very little cost.

a Killing apparently. I've no idea if there is an Iceland mind you.

a claim and start saying irrelevant stuff about bankers and fat cats. The fact that doing so both patronises and infantilises the poor people the lefties claim to care about so much seems lost on them.

There's always someone else to blame, you see. Usually a bloke who went to Eton.

than to those who brazenly milk the system.

I have made this before, but it is far easier psychologically for the likes of you and I to eat naughty food in moderation when we know we've got a nice meal in a restaurant at the end of the week to look forward to.

Poor people don't and so I do have some sympathy - even if they are a burden on the system - if they take the view that they have f**k all else to enjoy in life so why not eat crap food and take the benefits.

Those who are poor after having bought their other necessity requirements such as cigarettes, booze and whatever else takes their fancy. I would suggest these people could eat relatively healthy if they wished, or perhaps healthier than they do, but their lifestyle choice means they don’t and in turn anyone that is reliant on them does not either.

Then there are those poor who perhaps genuinely don’t have a pot to piss in once they have paid for their basic utilities and in this case perhaps shop in the 20 sausages for 2 pounds aisle as they basically want as much as they can get for the money they have.

Perhaps just too simplistic to say that those who don’t do so out of laziness alone.

Have you dined at Hunan in Sloane Square (of 'no menu' fame)? I have heard some remarkable things.

No I haven't.

Have you been to Smoking Goat yet? You're way behind the curve if you haven't been to the Goat.

Going to Kitty Fisher's with Twickers in a couple of weeks. Looking forward to that very much.

I would.

For people in grimy, hopeless existences, a bad of chips every day might not be the most nutritious, but gives them one of the few pleasures in life. Or something like that.

The other thing is that sneering, middle-class food poncery as a stick to beat the proles with is a somewhat unedifying spectacle in itself.

Something's gota give. I think I'll book a table at Hawksmoor for Friday.

I know nothing of Smoking Goat.

Kitty Fisher looks good. I note there is some Pitt Cue connection, which has me sold.

and don't want to spend hours in the kitchen when they finally get home late in the evening, and so slap a nice little pre-made pie in the oven, which, despite the tut-tutting of the Guardianista foodies, is perfectly good for them.

Mind you, can you imagine it? Can you? What they get up to?

But to suggest that it is cheaper to eat high fat / high sugar crap than fresh food is, I'm afraid, simply not true.

Bleeding heart liberals assuming that they, and they only, have a valid life experience, excluding the possibility that any other commentator may speak from an informed position.
