Also, I want to lay the ghost of our last horrific cup outing.

Anyway, we'll get Liverpool, I can feel it

only doing it by getting drawn at home and beating **** teams.

If we don't beat Liverpool or United away it's gonna start to feel even more undignified than it already does.

Unless, of course, you can't afford to go on a better one :-(

It may well be the third competition in order of priority but domestically the winning of the cup is still prestigious.

The players as professional footballers enjoy winning it while we as supporters get a day out to Wembley.

You can be 100% sure that van Gaal would look upon winning it and CL qualification as representing a complete success, similarly Rodgers. We are not on a higher pedestal than either of those clubs.

Luckily for us, he is manager of Arsenal and you are just a Total Prick on an Internet Message Board.

Losing to either Liverpool or United at their grounds, or at a neutral venue for the semi-finals would be no embarrassment.

The media may jump on a failure bandwagon but I suspect they would be too busy writing in these cases about van Gaal or Steven Gerrard.

Or we might just win the whole thing.

Simply pointing out the stupidity of it.

Of course one should apply the Monty rule of thumb in these cases where he will choose to argue a point of view which sees him as being different to the ordinary football supporters who he so loathes.

For not having applied this I am guilty.
