Is this football stuff really worth the energy?

one may derive from a good result doesn't compensate for the sick feeling of dread one has to endure before and during the event.

And that's just watching it on telly.

And I'll probably go third tonight too.

Rylance's eyebrows on a Wednesday, it suffers badly by comparison.

I'm running a bit of a temperature at the moment, but last night I could have sworn I watched a thing about a Sikh with a broad Glaswegian accent wandering around India in a kilt and eating stuff. Probably a hallucination.

Fortitude.

Have you nothing recorded? Do you not keep a few cheeky Grand Designs for emergencies?

I'm more of a University Challenge man, myself. Most of Only Connect leaves me cold, apart from lovely Vicky, of course.

I don't go for this applied knowledge business, I just want Jeremy shouting random questions at me and then displaying contempt for my incorrect answers.

I might have a look and see if Better Call Saul's popped up on there yet.

He was quite entertaining, your Sikh. Quite mad, of course.

that can make you erupt in spontaneous celebration.

Even though you claim to like cricket much more than football, I doubt you have ever celebrated a cricket match in the same way that you've celebrated Arsenal goals/achievements in the past.

Apologies if I am wrong.

I mean, apart from the maths and science questions they throw in there for the spods, it's stuff that anyone of any erudition should know, basically.

A cricket victory casused me to invade a pitch once. Football's never done that.

Especially when the USA had the momentum at this point scoring just before the normal time was up.

I don't like Hardeep Singh Koli. I want to punch him hard in the stomach for some reason I doen't really understand.

At the football there are always those signs up saying you'll get nicked.

Certainly less wrongcockage on there though, I mean the teams on last night's Only Connect were deviants to a man.

I do like the crossover characters, mind. Big fan of the boy Doversenek-Zorko

Only thing that was annoying for me was the monster bet I had on the Arsenal...I traded out about 15 minutes before half time and was thinking to myself - dam Tony that was epic....just got to sick back no risk and watch the monies roll in as Arsenal win.

Nope nothing...didn't lose a dime but frustrating.

Actually, whilst described as 'on aerodynamics' they were actually questions about airframes and flying controls.

out Australia for 104 in an afternoon to win the test by 14 runs, f. Great afternoon. I was wearing a orangey-**** shirt and my face was burnt bright red. I was extremely drunk and at one stage poured a pint of beer over myself to cool down.

Great day.

especially as one gets older. Takes a bit of practice but works quite well. The feeling of pleasure one gets when we pull off a performance and result like the one against Man City is still there. When we perform like we did on Saturday, the shrug of the shoulders and the parking of the result to the back of the mind is calming. The most important thing is to employ all of that during the 90 minutes as well.

on the other wing of the building it's the Japanese section.
When you walk through there I can only describe the feeling as 'weird japanese heat'

It's silent and on edge.

Then you got the Middle east fellas calling everyone my friend.

the rest of the place is about 80% Italians.

The statement may be 100% true regarding you, and I would agree it is with me also but I have had the ‘pleasure’ for example of being in Wales, in Cardiff at the game, when a rugby side has won the Grand Slam and I can assure you the celebrations were every bit as exuberant as any football match. I dread to think what it would have been like if the Welsh had won.

Same will apply for any sport where a person has a genuine “passion” for.

The Gaelic Games sports we have here if anything make football celebrations look small.
