The Dollis Brook valley running south for miles through park and woodland from Barnet is a fine stroll.
The Mill Hill viaduct over said valley is quite something – tube trains 60 foot up in the air.
The Art Deco Zoroastrian temple thingy (ex Cinema) on Rayner’s Lane is geat eye-candy after walking through miles of metroland.
The Ealing Common area seems quite pleasant.
There’s a Wimpy bar in Ruislip.
Hugh Middleton’s 17th century New River to bring fresh water to London starts near Berni’s new gaff in and around Where.

I used to go running beside it, in fact.

Interesting little museum in Ware, actually. Obviously a lot of stuff about The Great Bed of Ware, including pictures of Lucy Worsley lying on it  but also good stuff on the Bluecoat school and all sorts. Well worth a visit.

How we chuckled at that, I can tell you.

Crazy days, a.

Can't believe that Roy Tucker and Elizabeth Pargeter got it on, though. She must be old enough to be his mum! And what would poor, dead Nigel say? :shakehead:

going on. It's quite bizarre. It's also the most snobbish and reactionary thing on the BBC. All the working class characters are either wronguns or comical and to be laughed at and patronised by the middle-class characters. It's very odd.

I do like it when they start discussing farming issues, though. It's automated milking parlours at the moment. Going off alarming about that, they are.

welsh faces and knew they were going to lose..but i had a good eve then Sat I assumed the whites would once again beat the reds so I did not watch it and lovely day in oxford , I didnt watch MOTD or any football or in fact any sport the rest of the weekend..and feel much better for it tbh

But he's a self made man, a welsh no less, who went on to make things so good they were in use today.

See also Joseph Bazalguette, you can't knock that sort of big infrastructure stuff. These guys were literally revolutionaries.

for someone, maybe a kicking centre (not 12trees, someone like Henry Slade maybe?) or Tuilagi. George Ford was brilliant.

Also, the working class characters are played by only the hammiest RADAtards, replete with accents roughly as good as Dick van Dyke's

Wales looked a little bit lost in the second half - maybe should have save some of the fireworks for the game rather than that farce beforehand

The portrayal of the Grundys is so insulting as to make even me consider a lighted torch and pitchfork visit to Pebble Mill.

On foot. Northern from Barnet to Archway on Saturday and Picadilly from Uxbridge to Acton Town on Sunday.

VRPs are just noted points on the ground by which one can report one's position to air traffic control. They are also used to channel traffic into and out of controlled airspace.

You'd be proud of me, I got the full set of aerodynamic questions right on University Challenge the other day.

I'm pretty sure flying the plane itself would be the only way to make flying enjoyable.

Nice little local grass strip is what you want.

You're realistically going to need about 50 - 70 hours tuition at somewhere around 150 pounds per hour. Then you've got 7 or 8 ground exams, medical, books and equipment... I'd be inclined to budget 12,000.
