I realised I wasn't going to get spaghetti on the side, but just putting a breaded veal cutlet on my plate accompanied by nothing more than a lemon wedge and some green beans was very distressing.

dish with cream, a handful of good hard cheese (cheddar's fine), a dollop of the Grey Poupon, tarragon, salt and pepper, breadcrumbs on top and pop into a hot oven for ten minutes until bubbling.

Then dollop over mash.

I've got leftover pheasant for my dinner. Trouble is, the only bits left after Sunday lunch are the legs, which will be tough as old boots.

Meanwhile, my woman will be eating my schnitzel left over from Saturday.
