We were the architects of oour own demise on Sat though.
No appetite to cover/tackle/get in the way from our outside left and right meant unfettered access down the flanks and an exposed back 5 and an overrun midfield.
Had we played with the discipline and shape we showed at city and with the same pace on the break it would have been an easy away win.
When we got into their defense they were quite poor.

We made them look good, but they did work very hard to achieve that.

The result is bad but the performance wasnt the worse I've seen from us.

We looked very composed early....I think once they started taking on our central midfielders one and one and going past them that's when the little problems surfaced.

after that little mistakes here and there just took its toll.....I mean welbeck can only lose the ball and track back to fix his mistake so many times...Ozil was doing this but gave up in the 2nd half.

thought a few of the players were out on their feet for the 2nd half which was understandable considering their workfare in the first half...Carzorla should've been subbed earlier...Wellbeck too....won't have minded Ozil coming off for a more defensive play.

Their first goal was very fortunate...not sure why people were blaming Ospina...that was great save...the defensive should've taken care of it afterwards....

We just too weak/ineffective to expose their frailties.

What was disappointing was that they won far too many 50/50 challenges and we gave the ball away in our own half far too often. Fair play to them for that but we didn't look well prepared for it.
