No disrespect to them, but obviously they'd have been clutching the joysticks, since they were trying not to crash.

Also, avoiding skyscrapers doesn't make you a hero, surely? Again, that just means you have an instinct for self-preservation?

And yes, with a windscreen full of building, it doesn't take a hero to aim away fromn it.

On the other hand, they clearly didn't have the aircraft under control, so they weren't 'steering' in any way.
