market curry powder being sold to Germans by British soldiers after the war. A key contribution to European cuisine by us Brits, there.

It's going to be charcuterie and small bricks of butter in ice for breakfast, isn't it http://www.awimb.com/images/smiley_icons/ohwell.gif

There will be processed white bread upon which you can sprinkle hagelslag. If you're really, really lucky there will be cold rare roast beef.

After that, I think it shows what a forgiving soul I am that I'm even prepared to talk to them again.

My father used to call such a thing an 'accident roll'. You can get them pre-prepared in supermarkets :cloud9:

It's on the main square and boasts a winter garden that has hosted royal diners.

We stayed there a few times and it was proper old world 5 star luxury; I went back in the 1990s and it was all a bit faded. The service was still great but the building felt like it had seen better days.

I had a drink in the bar last year and the hotel was being renovated, so by now it should be all spangly and new. I hope it's back to its former glory, please let me know.

May I offer a dinner recommendation? I absolutely love this place - should you go, be sure to have the suikerbrrod with foie gras...

Nicos was asking where to billet himself in Barca last week and I directed him and his other half to Sitges.
