View Full Version : So Graham Poll believes it would have been an injustice if Liverpool had won

because Henderson and Lucas should have been sent off.

Although he agrees that Costa should have been sent off he claims that the referee could not have seen that offence whereas the other two were very clear and the referee had no excuses for not sending them off

He also feels sorry for Costa who he believes does not get enough support from the referees and is therefore forced to react aggresively.

No that it matters what we think but a discussion point don't you think?

seen the "stamps" and the non penalty but nothing apart from that

enough that Oliver may not have seen the stamping incident (and even if he had it isn't clear cut that it is deliberate). The other two he clearly saw and bottled the decision

I just find it very unusual for a referee (I know he is an ex) to make such a comment

Also, to say they deserved to win because the 2 players should have been sent off is crazy because had the first player been sent off then who knows if the second incident would have happened

And a team deserves to win because players hadn't been sent off? I thought Liverpool were the better team over the two games

as stupid on his part. But it is Graham Poll and it was probably in the Daily Mail - so what do you expect :-)
