Relationship Wimb, help needed

Just before Christmas the girlfriend walks out, completely out of the blue after 7 years...just a few days after telling me i'm her favorite person and she was going to look after me forever. She's also abandoned an 11 year old step daughter and has not contacted her in over 6 weeks. My daughter never had her real mum at home so obviously she is devastated.
Said she didn't want the family life and wanted to go travelling. I've since found out she's with a 50 year old UFO spotter who lives with his mum (we're 42). Seriously this c**t writes articles on UFO sightings.

Can anyone help explain this f**king madness?
