One of my favourite things about living up north is how much further away I am from south london.

Just the south, east and west bits.

And the bits that aren't in and around N17.

Today I walked from Acton Town to Heathrow. Part 3 of 4 of the Picadilly line overground, it included the Art Deco Golden Mile :cloud9:, and had breakfast in a caff opposite the old Gillette factory. Marvellous stuff.

There's even some Deco to be found in Hounslow! Also - Boston Manor House was quite a find.

Had you forgotten your Oyster card or something?

I think Acton is the fundamental problem with west london, stretching as it does for about seven light years between Hammersmith and Ealing.

I think Acton is about the size of Luxembrg.

my Chiswick from my Gunnersbury. Though the last place has a good name.

This project is helping to dispell the mystery, though. By the time I've done the Uxbridge to Acton Town branch of the dark blue line, and the many-tentacles of the District, I hope to find out where Fulham* is.

But yes, Acton has a ridicules number of stations. Not as many as Islington, of course, but then Islington is a proper place.

*I know this really.
