I am about to start on buying all the music that I own on CD, so I can 'rip' it (?) to a 'server' (?) and have tip top quality again.

Consider that I lost all my CDs when I divorced 10 years ago, and have bought everything since from iTunes, this is going to be a long and expensive project.
