View Full Version : Now obviously Saudi Arabia is a vile regime and you shouldn't flog people even for blogging, but

frankly to describe this as 'flogging' is stretching a f**king point imo. My infant school headmaster would have sacked any teacher who used the cane this weakly.
Certainly it's not my idea of '50 lashes'.

What's all this business about you being beastly to Wes Anderson?
I got this rather ace book about his films for Christmas. Shall I lend it you so you can analyse just how wrong you are?

basically. Someone to tell him that another stilted, mumble conversation involving Owen Wilson/Luke Wilson/Jason Schwartzman (all essentially interchangeable, I think we can agree) may not necessarily be a good thing.
I think his style and conceits are wonderful, but often the overall movies have been thin. GBH was a genuine step forward for me in that it was a film rather than an overgrown short film.

I don't think you're being at all fair though. Fine, The Darjeeling Limited was possibly a bit too Wilson-y but Rushmore, The Life Aquatic, The Royal Tennembaums were all excellent, excellent films.
Anyway, I thought you'd be down with that whole early 90s Linklater mumble core stuff.
Mind you, I struggled a bit with Moonrise Kingdom
Whipped sone poachers with skinny branch? Comical tbh
