which occurs in my big toe when walking or running, but I believe is an old wound from when a big fat clogger kicked me in the toe playing football as a kid.

making them go ouchy (I am not a medical man but I bellieve that is the correct word). I had it very badly in my ankle about a year and a half ago but it went away until yesterday when it returned in my knee. Very ouchy

occasions and probably never healed probably from the first time I did it so I guess it heads for weaker joints. Similarly now it is in my left knee which I have had problems with in the past due to lack of cartilage in it. Might be quite random - not a lot is known it seems.

I suppose I could always consider drinking a bit less as a last resort, should it get too inconvenient.

out that it could be gout so when it came back I went to the doc.

My friend knew because she had had it a few years before - a twentysomething vegan who has run marathons :shrug:

Experts seem to have little idea what causes it and why it affects some people (although I have no doubt excess of alcohol is a contributory factor) but they do know a good old-fashioned pain killer goes a long way

I cut out fizzy drinks which seemed to have a good effect. And bananas help - which is good as I like bananas
