Presumably you could just hop on the 234 bus into town and visit games workshop

The thing that I find most frightening about Games Workshops, if I'm honest, is that I can recognise the urge to sit around obsessively painting figurines and wargaming in myself. I was a wargamer as a very callow youth and would happily while away a bank holiday weekend with my pots of Humbrol, a tiny brush and a company of Napoleonic French Pioneers.

I just know that if I ever gave into my instincts and went into a Games Workshop, I'd be lost forever. :-(

The really great thing about Games Workshop is the brushes and paints are of a fantastic quality and some of the figures are ace.

I was never that much into the RPG side of things but used to love painting up the figures, I used to do them on request and sell them back to less artistically accomplished spods. In the Oxford Street one you could sell a nicely painted figure for 20 quid.

And what of female ones? Do they get 72 male virgins?

This whole suicide bombing is a minefield :cooper:

loved it, you utter spod. And the fantasy stuff is much gayer than proper military wargaming imo. What I was doing was basically proper history, whereas the fantasy stuff is for weirdos.

Although you wouldn't catch me near a troop of Cuirassiers these days, of course. No way.

I've seen The Wire, it's bad for business.

Also, would the literal uniformity of the whole thing not drive you mad?

The thing is that it appeals to the massive autist that lurks not far below the surface in most young boys, so repetition is hardly a problem.

The issues come if you reach puberty and don't get distracted by wine, women and song. At which point, you're doomed to become these dudes.

Maybe I should rediscover this aspect of myself and become a born-again wargamer?

I'm afraid it's all online MMORPGs now.

That said, there's nothing to stop you getting into World of Warcraft, apart from self respect of course.
