In which I supported the existing rape/sentencing lanes being weighted in favour of women would have shown I am not simply some kind of dapper laughs wanna wannabe.

Shame it was deleted, it only for peter's link to the excellent statement released by one of oldham's sponsors.

did seem to be trivializing any 'non-proper rape' by implying that "a man jumping out the bushes" and savagely raping someone was what constituted 'proper' rape.
I'd imagine (and this is just conjecture) that many rapes in fact aren't as violent as the "man in the bushes" scenario, but are just as emotionally damaging and traumatizing. I'm not talking about the Ched Evans case in particular here btw.
