There will be people walking around today who can't remember a time before Fairytale Of New York.
It's madness. We're all nearly dead. :-(

I still quite like it though - I'm quite nostalgic for that particular time, apart from anything else.
Of course it's no Judy Garland and 'Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas', which is, as we all know, the Finest Ever Christmas Song and reduces all who hear it* to a blubbering mess, every single time.

It seems stuck, nay welded, nay embedded, in the mid 80s.
I know you're quite the fan but for me the mid 80s were just the most heinous, awful, horrific time in history. If a decade could be indicted for war crimes it should be this one.

Find me someone for whom 'their' decade, the one they grew up in, doesn't hold a great deal affection, and I'll show you a victim of abuse.
Furthermore, and with the greatest of respect, you were a basically a foetus in the 1980s and as such experienced none of it. Your view of the decade is... not how it was.
i find people who hate a decade often have a link such as this..my poor little soldier :)

Any decade that started with that & ended with Jive Bunny is guilty of something imvho.
