I have no idea of his current contract situation but he will be 33 at season end so I would think, with absolutely no actual proof of course, that Wenger may be looking for a younger perhaps more dynamic replacement to come into the side.

Arteta is a very important player in our side so on that logic I am not keen to see him leave but the basic essence of summer spending should be to improve on the team or squad where it can be improved on.

when he is left to defend counter attacks on his own he is made to look slow and inept.
What people fail to grasp is the reason for this is the rest of the midfield, notably Ramsey and Wilshere, have all pissed off upfront and left him.
He is practically the only one in the squad with any football intelligence or game management and still a fine player.

Of course, the better the opponents, the more our attacking play will be broken up and threatened. And we more than most teams are affected by our fluidity being broken up.

But I believe we can play like that, in patches at least, against any team in the world. And that is what Wenger is working towards.

We'll get there, even if it's only enough for fourth place again. But as we both know, that's fine too...

I think that Jack is considered one of Wenger's favourites and the Wenger out mob see him playing in 'Ozil's position' with Ozil shifted and it seems to have resulted in some resentment towards the player.
My problem with him is he still holds onto the ball for far too long.

You couldn't countenance dropping Sanchez, which proves his indispensible worth to the side.
