View Full Version : I don't think we've had a finisher at the club as good as Poldi since Ian Wright played for us

Henry and rVp were great finishers but I don't think either were as natural or as consistent.

Ljungberg was also f**king lethal when he was in on goal.

But I guess if you can hit it that hard then why not

Pires as well.
Walcott's finishing is also underrated imo, has improved massively.

I think of Hitzelsperger, Carlos and that idiot Pearce.

All left footed :sherlock:

Natural finishers are wonderful things, and it's something in football I genuinely cannot do either.

I wouldn't even know how to start learning tbh

Simple.

I think I tend to overthink it, mostly.

it was primarily about Darren Bent but went on to talk about natural finishers/poachers being fazed out as a result of lone striker formations.

including goalkeepers.

Of course it's all well and good seeing the magic moment - you also have to have the ability to adjust your body position to take advantage of of it, and the technique to strike the ball correctly.

Jolly skilled chaps, they are.

You have to wonder what a Romario or Muller would do nowadays

even Lineker, Fowler, Owen etc

The new model is very much the Benteke, Lukaku, Drogba type.
Unless you are just ridiculously good like Aguero or Suarez, you'll have to learn to do something else.

I have to confess I used to like Robbie Fowler, him and Wrighty are probably the best finishers I've seen.

Call it Stockholm Syndrome if you like but I really loved him.

Met him when he was briefly at Leeds and told him if it was anybody else I'd still be holding that 1994 hattrick against him.

I remember a volley he scored, think it was against Villa.

I assume he was a nice chap? (Seems it tbf)
