and today was no exception*.

*Unless you were so impressed with them after they utterly outplayed us in the first leg in the CL that you have put sizeable wagers on them to win nearly every single game ever since and now -- after yet another loss, -- have been forced to cover your gambling debt by prostituting your supple young body to disgusting old desperate losers. Any takers? :watson:

edit: I am still a Klopp fan, though.

seriously they should advocate Diego Simeone as their preferred choice. His side has everything we sometimes complain about with our team: discipline, hard-working, defends as a unit, and ONLY f**king scores from set-pieces. Scored both their goals from set pieces today as well, they really are deadly from them. They don't play very exciting football though, and can't score from open play, so there's that.

Shouldn't we be discussing whether he is doing a good job or not? If not......?

finances that don't allow us to compete with them.

However, we should be a lot closer to them and even beating them, and to do that we need to be stronger at the back. More CH are needed but most of all, a World Class defensive midfield.

What is the use of getting rid of Wenger if there is not a better man to replace him? A better man that is available.

What indeed is the use of getting rid of a manager who has spectacularly failed to address the issues that have been stopping us competing with the teams we have to beat to be the best again. Issues even you recognise as necessary for success.

Perhaps getting one that does, until then expect the same old failures we have faced recently to keep re-occurring

Do you realise that ManU have 5 players on over 200k pounds per week and two of those (Rooney and Falcao) are on over 300k?

And don't even start me on chelsea and city

Do you know how many internationals chelsea have sent out on loan? players they bought to stop other clubs from buying them.

Instead of giving you a name let me ask you if you're happy with the return we get for the money we pay, both as fans and to our players and manager.

btw, I have no idea if this is still the case but...

last seasons title protagonists are on half what Wenger earned for dropping down to 4th from the best chance of winning the title since 2004

So we are competing in all aspects except titles with our'peers'

Ben.

we have needed a decent holding midfielder since god knows when yet we spend 40 million on a player we needed so badly he doesn't even get a game in his position.
Then there is the defence, we didn't need an unlimited budget to get a couple of back up defenders in, we could of kept Jenkinson for a start then Chambers would have been able to play instead of Monreal.
Also Alderweireld, Belgian international covers right back and centre back, went to Southampton on loan.
The fact we ignored our midfield being completely overrun against anyway halfway decent team and went into the season with a 19 year old with 20 games experience as cover for three of the four defensive positions is nothing to do with Chelsea or Man City.

do you really believe that the Abramovic mafia isn't rewarding his players in addition to what they are getting officially?

What about all those players they bought but sent out on loan, simply to stop other clubs from buying them

Does Wenger deserve his wages? Yes he does imo, simply for what he has done for the club.

Don't forget we were in the relegation zone shortly before he joined us

in 1992/93 we finished 10th

in 1994/95 we finished 12th

We were worst than spurs but Wenger changed all that

Of course we need to improve but Wenger deserves to serve out his contract and then we'll see

I've been confident that we would put this right for about the last five years, I thought that the way Everton,Liverpool,Chelsea and Man City bullied our midfield last year would make it impossible to ignore this time, yet here we are.
I'm not reactionary and I'm grateful for everything Wenger has done but I have absolutely no confidence in him addressing these issues, if anything he seems determined to ignore them.

To replace the manager is the boards job and I have less faith in their interests for our club beyond their own agendas than I have in a ridiculously well rewarded manager who cant even get the basics of team structure and tactics right.#
Wengers record against his peers is awful, just f**king rank.
We achieve 4th place by beating teams who have mere fractions of the money we spend on wages, transfers and manager. when it comes down to like for like comparisons Wenger sucks.
It wasn't always the case but for too long now his faults have been overlooked because of history and I feel its time to part so we can make the transition to a top top club again. one that challenges for titles and has a meaningful role in European football.
Bear in mind also that without Chelsea's and Man U's success in the competition you praise wenger for qualifying for we would only have 3 places to play for. In that case how many times in the last 8 years would we have been playing in the CL?

but cannot name someone he would rather have.

If you want someone else, name him... And explain how he could do a better job.
Wenger is not perfect, but to think just anyone could replace him and do better is simply laughable.

What happened when Moyes took over United? Or when Souness took over Liverpool? Liverpool hasn't won a championship in a quarter of a century since.

If you want to replace Wenger, fine. But I would be more impressed if you could offer a name and some coherent thought.

What is the point of discussing which manager we would have in an ideal world, if there is no chance of that happening.

This summer several "big teams" changed their managers and some of the other candidates were not available.

When choosing a new manager both the person and the timing must be right.

1) Buy 2 centre halves of reasonable quality
2) Buy a top class defensive midfield player
3) Ask the whole team to defend
4) Stop both full backs attacking at same time
5) Get midfield to track back
6) Drill defence
7) Don't leave defense wide open when we have a corner

Is this so hard ?? , he can then stay
