View Full Version : Dear Mr Gazidis. Disturbing security lapses at home CL games have resulted in away fans bringing in

MASSIVE PHUCKING DRUMS to the stadium.

While our home support is not known for its highly vociferous nature (apart from all the moaning, obviously) it can sometimes get half-decent, and while the German fans (without wishing to lean too heavily on lazy national stereotypes) are highly disciplined and regimented expressions of a single mind, the drumming almost completely kills off the home support. Despite our best efforts, we couldn't even get a North Bank - Clock End rally going as no-one knew whose turn it was as we couldn't hear anything above the racket of the fun-size Nuremburg Rally going on in the corner.

Have you, Mr Gazidis, not noticed this, or do you just not give a **** about helping the away support in this way by allowing them to bring in the giant metronome that helps co-ordinate their relentless (and eventually rather tedious) march through their hymn-book?

Yours Sincerely,

Disgusted of the Clock End

But the project will start 2015.

We will not just be a van Halen cover band.

I am very serious about this.

The only people really entitled to moan about our fans not singing are those fans that ARE there singing, so ner.

Can't you just enjoy the game and applaud when appropriate?

Row 20 of block 5 to be precise.

The fact that said drum was 'home support' was of little comfort.

Had inserted the flares up their arses so it was undetectable pre match.

Not sure about drums...

Soundcheck is late afternoon, so you, as a punctual person, will take a half-day off work to have plenty of time. You will pay for congestion charge and parking meter to get there at the allotted time only to find that no-one else has done so, and you are waiting for an hour even for the engineer to show up.

The headline band (when it isn't you) will then take an hour over their soundcheck leaving you with five minutes, and then the other band on the bill will turn up with no gear of their own and expect to use all of yours without arranging this before hand (including your guitar, which is like asking to borrow your girlfriend).

Then your girlfriend will get the hump with you for some reason (usually not paying her enough attention as you are focused on your task) and spend your set being chatted up by and flirting with whoever approaches her while you are standing there watching her and trying to play your songs.

Then you get home and find you have left your guitar stand at the venue or someone has nicked it.

Apart from that, it's great fun.

The volume and tightness of the singing is impressive at first but then after a while it starts to drone, and leaves no space for the other side.

We take it for granted but under our good, honest, British yeoman rules a side maybe sings a song or two and then has a rest. This allows the other side to have a go and sometimes one sides song is even a response to the others. This is more of an atmosphere imo than just a non-stop, double album of noise from one side.
