Clear cut chances you have the terrible miss by Wilshere that was handed to us by United but then created well by us, a truly shocking bit of football from JW all the same. The header by Welbeck was like something would see in a pub team where the other players in the side would collectively burst their holes laughing at hungover Dave and his attempt to score.

We had possession but did not use it well, they defended well if somewhat desperately at times – though the distinction between one and the other can be blurred at times.

Second half then you had a header from Sanchez which could perhaps have gone in if it were 5-10 yards either side of the keeper.

The manner in which we were caught out for (especially) Rooney’s goal and Di Maria’s miss was just incredible though if the tables were turned we would be looking for credit for the manner in which they counter attacked.

It really came down to that miss by Wilshere.
