Possibly the Worst Film Ever Made, whilst remaining one of the best watches of all movies.

Richard Burton and Richard Harris are, of course, perfectly wonderful, but the surpirse is just how charismatic Roger Moore is.

A lot of very elderly men in combat fatigues shooting black chaps is what I remember of it.

Your plot summary is succinct but accurate.

There is a deal of racism and homophobic abuse. Grand stuff.

Messerschmidts were actually Spanish Air Force models sporting Rolls-Royce Merlin engines and, as such, quite wrong.

Also there are various marks of Spitfire shown, including Mk 9s and even Mk 14s!

I'm sure you'll relish the stuff about them using the wrong type of parachutes in A Bridge Too Far.

And that's before we mention the fact that the supposed Tiger on the bridge is a 1960s-era Leopard

Probably the strangest film concept ever. :hehe:

The BoB has some proper corkers. The 1960s front doorbell and garage door are always good fun. And Susannah York's spendies, of course.
