There is also a revolted fascination involved with gawping at others. The huge, fat black lady and her friend are particularly bizarre, as are the fat family in North London, where the daughter and father seem to have melted into the sofa.

But then there are also people who I sort of warm to and who can be genuinely amusing. The Asian father and sons from Derby, for instance - and the two piss artists from Sandwich. I also quite like the wife of the elderly scouse man, who sometimes gives him very funny looks.

There is a lot of stuff on there to amuse.
