already made a deal seems not to apply and everyone seems to act as though it's perfectly fine to act in the most irresponsible, unscrupulous and ****ty manner. Indeed, if you tell them to f**k off or point out how badly they're behaving, these people seem to act as though you're the one being unreasonable.

because it was supposed to come with one and at the last minute she said it was broken (leaving me with the cost of scrapping it and buying a new one)
