No, they make it out of fast-growing conifers that they farm and replace on an industrial basis in places like Sweden and the Baltic countries. Paper is pretty damn sustainable imo.

supposed to eat meat as we couldn't digest it properly. I had to point out to her that this was utter, utter *******s and pointed her at the fact that not only can we digest meat, we also need meat protein and there is strong evolutionary evidence that meat eating was the trigger that turned us into the intelligent animals we are and and that, without it, we'd still be up trees. She got quite upset.

I don't often take issue with such people - each to their own and whatnot - but she was being really quite strident and offensive on the subject, suggesting that giving children meat was tantamount to poisoning them.

Still, that's one Christmas card we won't have to send this year, I guess. :shrug:
