As comedic as it was last night we need one point from two games to qualify, we would still have needed to beat BvB by a fair lick to win the group.

It's because we have no backbone.

time. I suspect being at home against a nominally weak side had them a bit over excited.

Which, as straw clutching goes, is pretty bloody spectacular.

The passing is indeed a worry. I like Ramsey immensely but Wenger needs to have a word with him, point out all of the other forwards ahead of him and tell him again that he's a midfielder and that he has a responsibility to those behind him too. Just sit, distribute and intercept FFS, especially at 3-0 up.

Arteta gets all sort of stick but he's the only player with a brain.

In fairness, their first was comically offside. That lino must be a blindoid.

Also, I can't help feeling that the whole thing was a massive karmic rebalancing act after our mugging of them in the last game and that we've still come out with a little more from the two matches than we actually deserve.

I mean, Burnley have been poor. Villa have been poor.

We haven't played brilliantly but we've ground out a few decent results and got ourselves 4th in the table and almost qualified for the next phase in Europe. That's a decent platform to work from, isn't it?

..when I say Wenger needs to leave so this club can progress and return to winning trophies. To make things worse he has decided to use Harry Redknapp's style of management, blaming everything and everyone for his own incompetence. He cannot tactically change the team during a game and that is his Achilles heel, one size fits all and let's pray you get the right result. I'm tiring of hearing his excuses, last night it was down to fatigue, really? A tactical change when Anderlecht got one back instead of continuing to play gung-ho football would have sealed the deal. As I said, not an overreaction but just the facts.

We've made absolutely no progress from the opening game of the season, withstanding one individual player's progression and don't look any closer to a cohesive, threatening unit.

It's quite easy to be annoyed when we're so plainly mediocre and fallible.

I mean, 3 up at home to Anderlecht :hehe:

But for a silly lack of pragmatism from players who are already in the team we would have been home and dry last night.

Close to pulling off the immense feat of competing with the oil money teams on our own merit and own terms.

As they say though, it's the hope that kills you.
