This season I was starting to worry Arsene and the players were developing some mental strength and tactical awareness. My worries are over :cloud9:

Having to persist with a confidence-shattered Almunia in goal when we could have just bought Mark Shwarzer from Fulham was probably the best example imo

He's been after a defensive midfielder since M'vila all those years ago and still hasn't managed to buy one.

None of us could believe that we would go into the season with such a threadbare defence at the start of the season, especially because we all knew we would get so many injuries. Even if he did a Redknapp and signed some experienced old guys as back up, that would be something

We are incredibly lucky that Chambers has adapted to this level so quickly (from an irregular Soton starter)

makes it all the more baffling. Vermaelen had a dodgy achilles which kept him out for large chunks of the season a few years back. He was out for about 4 months and then had surgery.

We went into the season with 3 central defenders, one had a dodgy achilles and the other was a 19 year old.

As Wenger says, there is no point bringing in a player that does on improve on what we've got.

there is nobody out there who can improve on playing a LB as a CB then he has lost his mind

Do you get invited to the board meetings?

it's what PLC's do you know, it enables shareholders to work out if they are getting value for money.

And I would assume that if we had bid for the player who went to Roma, it showed that we had at least that money available for purchases.

I do hope that clears it up for you

in January, so i guess you also think the club has money available?

but nobody wanted him to play anyway, so what difference does it make who the third choice is if even the club captain can't get a game?

You're looking for someone who is good enough to play, but rubbish enough to not mind not playing. Such individuals can't be easy to find.
