I am quite surprised.
The whole of London was filled with beardy types with their jerseys on last weekend.

It's a money making machine when they come here.

NHL tried an failed miserably. Hockey will never be accepted here. I remember years ago baseball tried and had an expo in covent garden but it just doesn't work.

NBA is successful here though.

Don't see why they don't have a NFL team in Toronto though. Buffalo play there quite often.

in a couple of years time. An NFL team only has 8 regular season home games so i could easily see them try and get a London team in the league. The only problem would be the players wanting to live there and salary issues (how much they get taxed) i imagine.

the only way an NFL game is acceptable is because both teams are disadvantaged by the travel. Imagine the London Jellied Eels traveling to play the Sand Diego Chargers.,.. and doing that similar travel 7 more times a year, plus twice in the preseason.

But there's no doubt that the NFL covets London.

:rubchin: I believe there's a London soccerball team owned by an American chap who also happens to own an NFL franchise. This NFL franchise has stadium issues and this soccerball team has a modern stadium that would automatically meet NFL standards...

These games have novelty value and nothing more.

Besides, everyone I know who went is a complete bell end. The population of London would have been greatly improved by nuking Wembley on Sunday.

At the time (1988?), the best sport programme on television.
