I have frankly eaten nothing but crap for three days now. I even had pizza last night. Bad, delivery pizza. :-O
Bowels are fine, though.

Jesus there must have been a kilo of meat there.
I'm making tartiflette today. There will be onions, leeks, lardons, mushrooms and creme fraiche and white wine. I'm tempted to chuck a couple of Toulouse sausages on the side as well.
We're going to be fat again soon, aren't we? What will Ryan say?

But yes. Things have been allowed to slip of late.

Have you seen the state of Cornish birds?

because he was shortly to visit Cornwall, which meant he'd be able to 'eat a proper pasty'.

they could be raised above the bland, grey sub-pies they seem to be.
Nope. Turns out that, however well you cook them, lard-based pastry, meat and root vegetables enlivened only by salt and pepper and lacking in a sauce or gravy remain unutterably tedious.

Yeah, I remember being quite excited. Then I took the first bite, only to realise it tasted exactly like a Cornish pasty. :-(

I like it when chubsters offer violence. It makes me wonder just how long they think they can keep swinging and missing before they have to sit down for a good puff and a bag of chips.

I'd like to try to make a scotch pie. With the lamb grease and that.

Tomorrow I'm going to go to Whitstable and eat lunch, hopefully peering through melancholy drizzle at an indeterminate sea / channel to Sheppey.

filled with tripe or somesuch.
That sounds a little wrong. Apologies.
Yes, I should say so. It's wildly overpriced and not particularly good, isn't it? But it's just right there. Where you want it to be.

I could, of course, make a steak and kidney pudding. Takes much longer and is ridiculously fattening - plus you have to make a gravy to pour into the top at the end - but, when it's good, it's the superior of any pie imo.
Yes, it is a bit overpriced. But you can't really f**k up oysters and lobster, can you?

its own devices. I always chop the kidney up nice and weeny so you get the delicious pissy flavour, but not the nasty texture.
