He also seemed to argue that - even though he believes Pistorius knew he was killing his girlfriend - imprisoning him serves no purpose. So...that's the whole concept of imprisonment undermined, then, yes?

Sadly, Simon doesn't seem to suggest what we should do with people who kill their girlfriends other than imprison them. A stern talking-to, early bedtime and no pudding for a month, perhaps.
