Plus I moan about modern music and regressing through the years. I appear now to be stuck in the 80's

However I do not wish to make a band like the Darkness.

Something with power is needed. I assume it's like passion in football.

Of course the business has changed. But it can change again.

days. I was listening to some old school RnB (late 90s early 00s) last week thinking how **** RnB music is today.

No doubt the teenagers will be saying the same in 10-15 years time.

Not to mention the fact that vinyl sales are at their highest in over a decade.

But yeah, f**k the present etc

When the hangover for example went beyond sunday and monday and was still lurking on Tuesday, or specifically not the hangover but the general feeling of being utterly physically f**ked.

Another hangover related age/state of mind scenario is when the knowledge of how bad the hangover will be means you blow out the night before instead of being front and centre, semi naked even. But then that is largely indicated by the company, as in work colleagues.

Given that over 50% of them are older more established acts re-releasing earlier albums.

I can't imagine for example that many people would rush out to buy Sam Smith's album on vinyl, I doubt his record company even release said format.

That said I was thinking about more specific genres of music bringing the vinyl sales up than what that list revealed tbh.

I have little interest in modern music save for electronic music forms.

Vocals like a gay fish, repetition repetition repetition of the last word of a phrase, vocal only the last line of the song so it 'hangs there' like every other f**king song does.

The latest horror is to put pumping compression on as a feature. FFS that sound is an artifact of an engineering f**kup on mastering and is genuinely appalling to listen to.

Kunts to a man, Jake. They should all be strung up etc.

Mind you, as I told the police that time, I only had it out to wee on the compost heap. The fact that those nuns happened to be passing was entirely coincidental. As was the fact that I was having to give it a really good shake to dry it off.

If you saw the people I work with you would know the concept of Hipsterism is unknown.

I have always listened to electronic/dance music, well since late 80s anyway. The fact it is all free these days just makes it even easier to obtain.

Re-release of the first Underworld album in a week or so.

'Neg

Aye. I have been to places that are higher rated in the French tyre book, but L'enclume is right at the top of my list. Every little dish is a real delight. And 17 of them actually makes it pretty good value and it keeps you occupied for a fair few hours.

Did you stay in Cartmel?

Did you have the oyster pebbles? Oxtail dumplings? f**k me they were delicious.

The 17 courses with wine pairing is hard work indeed. Around course 7 or so we asked the kitchen to slow down a bit and give us a little break.
