I can understand that the picture of Nasri & Gallas will cause some to react as if two *****phile rapists had just entered the room and sat down beside them with their lunch.

Me, I simply see two ex-Arsenal footballers. Can't be arsed hating them. To be honest can't really see any reason to.

Gallas is remembered for that incident in Birmingham, Nasri I think for comments made after his departure.

I've never fully grasped exactly why Nasri has become so hated.

At the most basic level he owed us nothing, he played his contract and decided to leave.

Flamini did the same and was welcomed back to the club by some as a returning hero.

The issue being presumably that one moved domestically.

any employer, the difference is that football does not operate in the same free market as the rest of the economy from the perspective of the fan.

I would therefore put it to you that the reason why many fans feel anguish when a player switches employer is that they don't have the reciprocal option of switching products, or brands, as football clubs are becoming.

Mark Thomas was very nearly as good as Bill Hicks once upon a time.

I've always rather liked Rob Newman and my other half positively loves him. In fact, it's safe to say I will have to buy her some sort of Tena arrangement.

One goes out, one comes in.

Some choose to leave, for others the choice is made for them by the club despite on occasions not wanting to leave. A cut throat mercenary business.

Life is too short to go round hating on a player simply because he decides to move on.

If anything, now I think about it, football clubs have always been brands, which is precisely what the tribal loyalty is about.

And yes, there must be more transfers now than pre-Bosman because under the old feudal arrangement the players had no economic freedoms themselves.

c**ts like me are not immune to that feeling of disappointment.

But there’s no excuse for not keeping those feeling in check if you are to be treated as a serious adult – and there is no reason why being a football fan and a serious adult are incompatible.

To go round hating all the time makes less sense than any of the above.

Apart from Queen of course.
