View Full Version : i just bought some socks for my car in case it gets cold..i bought 4..think 2 would have sufficed?

but rear wheel drive so thought best get 4 ..anyone else used socks for their csr ? cant be arsed with chains or winter tyres and heard they do an ok job for us country yokel types

As in socks, car socks. Like people who wear gloves, but you were going with socks.

I just put it down to the Snin factor.

but chances are ill only remember when snow outside so bit late..ive got socks to cover me until i get my arse in gear..Which found them about 90% as good as snow tyres not just winter tyres ( there is a big diff imo..as ive used winter tyres in alps and been all over shot but snow tyres..no problem ) im happy with normal tyres then smack on some socks i expect. ill see if i change my opinion when going backwards through a hedge of course

And if it does it will probably be a bit slippy for a morning and then fine again.

snow and this one feels like could be good bit around..its not like your south coast riveria :) plus they never clear it and to get out our drive / road is up hill so otherwise ill be late / miss work / not be able to drive to the steepest hills near us and ride my snowboard on uk powdersnow :cloud9:

also i usually drive to brecon beacons a couple of times to snowboard if fresh dump so need grip then too
