Presumably injuries incurred in matches as a result of impact. To be honest with you I can't even remember the players involved at this stage except for Debuchy & Giroud.

The muscular strain injuries less so but again I am not an expert at all in physical conditioning. Gibbs in the first game of the season, Arteta and then Ramsey having both sat out a midweek match. No bull**** about red zones, none of them even had a long summer to use as a reason or excuse.

Shad out. And Wenger. Should have gone in May really.

But then neither you or I work in the business of top level football manager recruitment, or at least I don't.

People/players are always available if you really want, or if you have foresight and planning.

I have nothing against Wenger, I don't hate on the man at all. I just wouldn't mind seeing change, see what happens. I am not convinced we are actually going anywhere.

Certainly not something to fear.

It may of course go tits up but then you just get on with it.

I have no idea how the f**k Dortmund managed to lose to Hamburg at the weekend

I can kind of see why some people might want a change. I'm content with the status quo largely out of fear of what might happen if we do a Utd. Which I guess is where the Board are too - not always a good thing of course, as you say, sometimes change is good.

Do you mean they should be battering them with that team, or they did batter them but somehow lost?

I have no negative feelings about dear old Arsene, I'm just a bit bored, really.

After the relative austerity. Give it another 2 years and see where we are then imo.

Good luck to him.

Still struggling to understand the summer just gone but I am old enough to realise he knows more than I ever will.

Have to say I have changed my mind, tactically we don't seem to have a strategy, we struggle against teams that press us, (Dortmund) teams that sit off and let us have it (Chelsea,Everton) any set piece and we still haven't got a proper defensive minded midfielder.

He has after all been very successful in periods and relatively successful throughout his tenure, which itself has gone on for a long time so the belief is to a degree borne from fear, which is not healthy.

What will we do, how will we cope when Arsene leaves. I imagine we well do quite well assuming the club does what it should.

Anyway, I am off before I am attacked. I am not on a complete Wenger Out rant.

It seems probable that AW's time at Arsenal is more likely to end with a whimper than a bang, so we need to be looking at what comes next.

Coming up against Bayern can't be fun. Hamburg hadn't won a game all season until Saturday - although they did also hold Bayern 0-0. Really should be beaten them, didn't see the game though

Ben.
10-09-2014, 09:05 AM
that was pretty much impossible to fill but I would have thought Kagawa would have been a big lift to them.
They looked fine against us :hehe:

These concerns weren't flagged out of spite or malice mind.
Instinctively, people hang on for far too long in all walks of life.
Change is good. I don't really get the fear of failure bit.

You have to remember that but for a (very) generous extension to the transfer window from the FA we wouldn’t even have Welbeck so we’d be sat here from now until January with Sanogo or Sanchez perhaps forced into that role.

You cannot fault the business he did in the summer, each player a good signing but still 1-2 obvious ones were ignored, or at least obvious to the likes of you and I.

I know what you are saying about certain players he may have wanted which he could not get but I would have thought you then worked on other targets as opposed to leaving an area of the team exposed.

Thankfully we have loads of midget technical midfielders as even with injuries we have fantastic options.

Nope, I realise how hard to attain that feeling is and would not want to give it up for a childish, temporary frisson.

Luis Anaconda

which both sides do take reasonably seriously. Of course no Reus, no Gundogan and Hummels has been ordinary since returning from injury - big losses all

Ben.
10-09-2014, 09:14 AM
had we made a big effort during their big sale, he would have improved us markedly (I said that at the time also).
I really cannot believe after the way Flamini/Arteta/Wilshere were exposed against any half decent team we still have not addressed this.

They still have Subotic and (to quote Paul Merson) the Greek lad so the defence should be ok, although Ginter has looked a touch ropey from what i've seen.
Gundogan has to be a massive concern, it is getting into Rosicky/Wilshere territory now.

Do you think perhaps their game is just too intense to produce with the required regularity, although they obviously did it before, I'm stumped http://www.awimb.com/images/smiley_icons/ohwell.gif

Luis Anaconda
10-09-2014, 09:30 AM
Ginter has been playing in midfield without much success. They actually have a pretty big squad so they should be able to rotate in the league and keep their best players for big games - don't seem to able to do it though

Ben.
10-09-2014, 09:36 AM
just Lallana, Lambert and Rodriguez got the headlines (because of their nationality and being the ones with the goals) now they have gone in addition to his antics in the summer he is now getting more attention.

Ben.
10-09-2014, 09:40 AM
where he (Ginter) was at centre back and got nutmegged when they scored after about 7 seconds, that aside he had an absolute nightmare.
Do you think we missed out?

Have to say if it was him or Chambers, I'm happy with what we've got, he'll be an excellent player.
Think Chambers could be the answer to the defensive midfielder situation, if only we had some defenders :-(
