Apropos of youtube being a hotbed of racism, there is a very racist phenomenon doing the rounds on

there. Pranking videos set 'in the hood'; i.e. where white youtube pranksters go into black neighborhoods and harass the people there until they respond in a violent gesture, thus earning the prankster a reaction that the youtube commenters feels legitimizes their vitriolic racist outbursts.

This is very similar to the humiliating racist rituals you'd find in the American Old South where a group of racists would surround an African-American and harass him saying: "tell me you hate us, tell us we are pieces of ****" etc. basically forcing the unfortunate person to respond with the first insult and then using this gesture as a justification and occasion for violently assaulting and lynching him (of course the black person really does hate the white oppressors so not only do they brutalize him but they have him utter the truth and resentment that he really harbors and uses this to humiliate him as well).
