View Full Version : I've been musing on the possibility of an EU referendum and subsequent UK withdrawal.

Surely the immediate effects would be the collapse of sterling and consequent export-led boom, a sharp rise in inflation and consequent rise in interest rates, and freedom from forking our billions to French farmers.

I'm trying to work out how this is even a question that needs to be asked.

I'm off to join UKIP.

And, in turn, people will continue to want to sell us theirs, yes?

Nobody has convincingly explained to me how this situation will change in the event of us leaving the EU.

against us. I'm pretty sure that even if we did leave we'd remain within EFTA. If it's still called EFTA.

Sir Charlie of Nicholas

I was gagging for my lunch, actually, and my mind was firmly set on the pulled pork and 8 hour smoked ribs awaiting me.

Berni
09-30-2014, 01:48 PM
I mean...'pulled pork' :hehe:

Sir Charlie of Nicholas

and it was better than The Big Easy.

Their ribs, on the other hand... quite other-worldly, they were.

Berni

Ribs you really do need one of those American barbecuey things, though.

Sir Charlie of Nicholas
09-30-2014, 01:54 PM
It is far from 'just' slow roast pork shoulder. The dry rub is crucial, and the cooking temperature and time, covered and uncovered vital. And this barbecue sauce, I expect you think it comes from a bottle? :hehe:

Back to amateur corner, son.

I'm with Butthead on this. Presumably pulled pork is a bit like choked chicken.

Berni

Sweet, smokey, vinegary and spicy. Wallop.

It's food for Americans. How sophisticated does it need to be?

quintessentially democratic? For instance, I once saw a large black gentleman pulling apart a whole barbecued pig in North Carolina. He looked quite democratic. Couldn't understand a word he said, mind.
