I've been seeing this symbol everywhere and it's taken me ages to find out what it is

Turns out it's some sort of christianity thing and an act of solidarity with persecuted christians in Iraq. I'm rather amazed at just how many people I thought I knew relatively well are rather religious. I just automatically assume people are godless heathens.
