It was kind of the last weekend of the show season, Duxford being the Big One.

They might even have been Gnats out of North Weald. I was watching them training on Saturday for Duxford yesterday.

These blokes bought these Hawks from the RAF at about 40k each. 'Bragain!' I hear you cry. Quite so. But the operating costs are around 6k per hour.

Six thousand pounds per hour :hehe:

The insurance is something ridiculous. But mainly it's the maintenance and the cost of parts.

fast use..in terms of expense for serving / replacements fixing it tyres etc after every session over 150 or so

as it needs servicing, parts, tyres , re-tune etc the v12 is a nightmare of little tappity tappets if you do a fast hours driving and take it over 140 or so..pricey to run
