about the downfall of society due to social media and it doesn't post.

Plus I have had to resort to using Internet explorer so when I press back all the text has gone.

This place is dead to me.

I was trying to say though the moment is gone.

I am very concerned of the mentality of people these days.

I thought it was that for some reason Arsenal had more moaning fans than usual.

I have been scanning twitter over comments of the iPhone 6 pre ordering and people are going mental. ‘Can’t believe I have to wait up to 48 days!’ ‘o2 website went down is this acceptable in today’s age’

What has happened to the world? The world of social media and twitter has moved to fast, The human being has not evolved sufficiently to handle this way of life.

People have this deluded view that they should be entitled to everything instantly.

Then you have these bizarre chaps (keyboard warrior) who say horrendous things to people just for the sake of it. They wouldn’t do it in real life.

The world is becoming a very weird place. I can’t imagine what we will end up like.

Maybe people have been cunds all along but they seem to be a whole new level these days.

I love a good moan but this is completely different.

Your post would have been worthwhile if only for Jorge's indignant response.

I find going on a social media platform to complain about the influence of social media a bit of a headf**k, to be honest.

In between going to the real pub.

I don't go to the pub so it doesn't apply to me.

for me it's a time wasting vehicle.

chap :hehe:

You're the most narcissistic person on this board. It seems absolutely everything is an affront to your sensibilities; everything is experienced as a traumatic disturbance which violently disturbes the closed equilibrium of your inflated Ego. You complain about people who chew loudly, about inappropriate use of language, about everything working class, about what clothing is deemed inappropriate, etc. etc. I really rather enjoy it, but I sincerely hope that comment was tongue-in-cheek :hehe:

All in all, good job. Can't wait for the next rant about something absolutely minor. Are you aware of Ignatius Reilly from 'A Confederacy of Dunces'? You remind me of him, albeit an upper-class version (which, paradoxically, probably makes you his very antithesis).

I reassure myself that my persona here is a gross exaggeration of aspects of my true personality. Not for me to judge, though, really.

You may rationalize and disavow the extent to which this 'persona' is not really "who you really are", but people who adopt a distance towards their online 'selves' are - often - merely trying to mask the extent to which this is an accurate reflection of what they really are behind the veil of whatever you present to others in reality.
You are of course always aware of the illusory character of your online pretensions, but these pretensions and the subsequent disavowal can well conceal the extent to which your real desire is staged by this fictionalized self.

Floyd is probably a functional, decent human being in ordinary reality, but make no mistake; there probably is something disturbing lurking beneath that nice, ordinary human being.

That's enough sofa-psychoanalysis from me today.

as a pressure-valve for these ridiculous annoyances and hangups. Equally, I find the exaggeration of such characteristics to the point of absurdity funny.

The only frustration is the 'cry wolf' aspect of it that means people take you seriously when you're being most ridiculous and think you're winding them up when you're being serious. Still, they can't be blamed for that. One can't have it both ways.

I think when we're being out most ridiculous there is an element of sincerity there, somewhere, while when we're most serious it's the opposite.

Oh well, this is neither the time nor place for that sort of discussion. Let's focus on the more important things like the whole Scottish independence thing and cricket.
No wonder the place is so dead these days :hehe:

I liked this comment from arse-nick, although I had to put it into words:
http://www.awimb.com/fudforum/index.php?t=msg&goto=39346 70&rid=8090&S=1312cf08bacf1c5776f3959ba29d23a8#msg_3 934670 (http://www.awimb.com/fudforum/index.php?t=msg&goto=3934670&rid=8090&S=1312cf08bacf1c5776f3959ba29d23a8#msg_3934670)
This is me paraphrasing his thoughts on my ostensible absurdity in my comment a few posts earlier.
I think there is some truth to what (I said) he meant, i.e. that in absurdity there can sometimes be sincerity (even unacknowledged by the person enunciating the statement), although I don't think (I may be wrong though, who knows if secretly I am a racist) he was right in this particular case.
