Twitter full of people claiming the deal was only done as Gazidis stepped in. Do people really believe Wenger would let Gazidis (or anyone) interfere with team affairs?

Could mean that it meant he was available early enough to kick start things and otherwise we would have run out of time. Could mean that he was able to push the deal forward because he saw Ferguson. Could be because he travelled with the agent brought in to make it happen. Or it could mean he wouldn't have been badgered/overruled into it by Gazidis. I very much doubt it's the latter
