I can't but help but feel the watch just looks like gimmicky ****e tbh.

I doubt it'll catch on, mainly because hardly anyone wears a watch nowadays. Those that do wear them for the status symbol aspect and, ironically, the apple wons are basically the equivalent of Casio calculator watches compared to the look-at-me-I'm-rich-as-Croesus chaps.
