His ability to play in defence or midfield allowing them to play as needed within a game, easily able to drop back and allow the two full backs to push on as and when required.

Football is a fluid game, it moves. Difficult to replicate this when sticking names down on a internet message board.

As before I think Blind will be a key signing for them as he is familiar with the manager and how he wants his teams to play, the so called philosophy that annoys a lot of people.

I've seen comments about how he will fit them all in but I think it is quite obvious. There will be times he does and times he doesn't, others then come into play such as Jones, Smalling, Fletcher etc as and when fixtures dictate.

I would have little doubt he is intelligent enough to deal with it.

They're in a wee bit of strife at the moment but if they can get going and win a few on the bounce then they are back up near the top.

Enormous outlay on Di Maria and Falcao but two seriously good footballers (if the latter is fit) and will be worth every penny if they get back into the top 4 this season.

Blind could be the best bit of business they do this summer, though I remain amazed that they bought strikers and wingers rather than bulk versatile defensive minded players.

However the suggestion I saw at the weekend was that he is simply waiting for Strootman to return from injury and in he comes, another player very familiar with him and who the manager has previously seen as very central to how he wanted to play.


It really is a f**king enormous season for them, fantastic sub-plot to the whole "who wins the league" ****. They simply cannot not be in the CL in 12 months time.
