The Portuguese fish restaurants of St Pauli used to be a favourite, but I think the area has been trendified now.

I was once served hare for breakfast in Hamburg.

I also stayed for a while in a sort of commune inhabited by hippies and ladies with hairy under-arms. It was very Baader-Meinhoff.
